Take Care of You!
A new year is just around the corner, four days in fact. I know it is just another day on the calendar. I also know how we tend to think of the new year as a time for beginning again. People start new diets, they join health club, buy workout clothes and equipment. We all -well almost all of us – have habits we would like to change.
There is one habit I’d like to see women, especially single moms, change. I wish more moms would take better care of themselves. I do recall how little spare time a single mom has, and most women are pressed for time these days. At my age, I can look back and say it would have been good if I had taken better care of myself.
So my bit of wisdom for you today is “Take Care of Yourself.”
I am a Certified Professional Coach and I hold a degree from Lamar University in Speech and a Master’s from the University of Texas. I married Sam after raising three children as a single mother. I was an educator in regular and special education for twenty years, finishing my professional career as a Braille teacher. In 2007 I founded SMORE for Women. SMORE is a nonprofit association whose goal is Single Moms, Overjoyed, Rejuvenated, and Empowered. My stories have been published in several Christian books and magazines. My Website.
