Personality types are favorite topic of many people. Knowing about them and applying this knowledge in every-day life is a sign of successful person. I’ll do a review for you about this, why it is important, what are the benefits and I’ll give you basic description of four main personality types.
What’s in it for me?
This question is present in our subconscious every time we are making a decision on anything. So why should we bother learning this personality stuff? The answer lies in a word relationships.
The greatest benefit of knowing personality types is increasing quality of our relationships. It’s because by knowing what our personality profile is, we start to understand ourselves better and then we can understand others better. We are able to adjust our behavior to the “needs” of other person’s personality. This greatly increases the quality of relationship and also makes it easier to make new relationships.

“D” – choleric
This type is open and task-oriented. Dominant characteristics are:

Determined
Decisive

The basic necessity of “D” is getting results. They like deciding, to solve problems and achieve their goals.
“I” – sanguine
This type is open and people-oriented. Dominant characteristics are:
Inspiring
Influencing
Inducing
Impressive
Interesting
Impressionable
(love to be)Important
Interchangeable
Interested in people
Imaginative
Impulsive
Illogical
The basic necessity of “I” is having fun. They like meeting with others, so that together everyone can enjoy it.
“S” – phlegmatic
This type is closed and people-oriented. Dominant characteristics are:
Supportive
Steady
Stable
Secure
Serving
Sweet
Submissive
Shy
Status-quo
Sentimental
Same
Sucker
The basic necessity of “S” is peace and harmony. They want to keep acceptable method to be sure that others will comfortably manage everything.
“C” – melancholic
This type is closed and task-oriented. Dominant characteristics are:
Cautious
Competent
Cognitive
Careful
Calculating
Critical thinking
Compliance
Conscientious
Correct
Conformist
Consistent
Cold
The basic necessities of “C” are quality answers, value, being correct. They are looking for facts and operate by methods to meet exact principles.
Final notice
What I write above is basic description/list of dominant qualities of each personality type. That doesn’t mean that you can put a person into one of 4 types. Each person is a mixture of these 4 personality types and in most cases one or two of them are dominant in person’s personality profile.
