Have You Spent Time Alone Lately?

When did you last spend time alone?

You may think that I say too much about this topic. Well – here I go again. Because as a mature (a-hm) woman I know that in order to have inner peace one must spend some time alone. It is that time that will bring peace.

In Living Learning Loving, Insights and Encouragement on the Path of Motherhood  I wrote:

I’ve spent many days in solitude, some by choice – others not. Either way I have learned more, stretched more, and grown more during those times. Aloneness need nor vw lonely. It can be a time for needed change and insight into your plans and choices. It can even be seen as “me time” when you can focus on your own needs, wants, and desires for the future.

Bob Kull, author of Solitude: Seeking Wisdom in Extremes, says, “Solitude has the power to catalyze shifts in perception. The felt experience of belonging to the ecosphere is psychologically and spiritually healing and may have profound implications for changing our patterns of behavior. Along with economic and legislative solutions, we need inner transformation. Solitude evokes the spacious wonder of living in a sacred world.”

When I coach women I learn that a key to finding the peace for a happy life depends on how well one knows themselves. To improve our relationships with others we must first improve our relationship with self.

From Psychology Today – “Meaningful alonetime, it turns out, is a powerful need and a necessary tonic in today’s rapid-fire world. Indeed, solitude actually allows us to connect to others in a far richer way.” – Ester Buchholtz

How much time have you spent alone lately?

  1. Thank you for sharing!

Hay individuos que se les da opinar y gente que no.
Yo pienso que a ti va mejor consagrarte a estudiar o algo así.

    1. English translation:
There are individuals who are given an opinion and people who do not .
I think you do better devote yourself to study or something.

If I understand you correctly you are saying that some have a choice while others do not.
This is true. I usually suggest, when I understand the situation fully, that individuals take advantage of time they have alone.

Too much alone time can result in depression and should be avoided. In other words – balance is essential.
