The Buckner Family Place model devotes itself to protecting children, promoting independence and building strong families through Christ-centered values. Since 1997, Family Place programs have served more than 550 single parent families. Family Place, a family centered program, provides safe and affordable housing, quality childcare, parent education, life skills and financial literacy training, and individual and group supportive counseling,while parents attend college full-time.

Buckner Family Place Lufkin offers a safe and affordable residential living with an on-site childcare center. Through college education and other comprehensive services and support, Buckner meets the basic educational, emotional, spiritual, and physical needs of each child and family. Furthermore, Buckner Family Place promotes protective factors that ensure the well-being of children and families while encouraging them to reach their highest potential.

 To be eligible for this Family Place program, applicant:

Must be 18 years of age or older

•  Must have custody of their minor children

•  Must be full-time student

•  Must commit to active participation in all aspects of the self-sufficiency program

•  Are accepted on a case-by-case basis only
