Sons (and daughters) are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. – Psalms 127: 3-5
What do you want for your children – to be a doctor, lawyer, or teacher; to be successful in business; to be famous? What does God want for them? To be rich in character with a knowledge of Him and His ways will certainly be a foundation for all that your child will face in the world – good and not so good.
Think about what happens when an archer shoots an arrow from his bow. He sends it way away in front of him. This too, is what you are doing as you raise your children. You are sending them into the future to change the world in small and large ways. What an awesome responsibility and a blessing you have from the Lord as your children grow.
This has always been a favorite verse of
Mine and holds particular significance with me. God used one night to heal some wild wounds from my childhood. Thank you for reminding why I do what I do. Happy Thanksgiving Gail.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, Cindy! I received the letter from Caring People-beautifully done. Will reply. Loving the Lord and doing His work.
