This man has influenced me and my spiritual beliefs more than any other one person. And he is Catholic, one of the denominations I have never belonged to. Interestingly, the other person is Brian D. McLaren and he is now the Dean of the Core Faculty at the Center for Action and Contemplation, founded by R. Rohr.
Former evangelical pastor Brian D. McLaren is a champion for a more loving, inclusive and contemplative Christianity. A faculty member at the Center for Action and Contemplation, he teaches ways to reconnect with the message Jesus lived and died for—unconditional love. He is the author of Faith After Doubt, The Great Spiritual Migration, and host of CAC’s podcast Learning How to See.
From both of these extraordinary men I’ve learned that it is okay to question, dive deep and learn. My life has been spiritually richer and I now see God everywhere, especially within. There is so much I would like to share that it is hard to begin.
I will include brief book reviews to show you where I’ve traveled on my spiritual journey.
The next entry will post in two weeks.
I raised three children as a single mother before I remarried. In 2007 I founded SMORE for Women, a nonprofit whose goal is Single Moms, Overjoyed, Rejuvenated, and Empowered. I’m also a Certified Professional Coach and my stories have been published in several Christian books and magazines. My book, Living Learning Loving is available on Amazon. My Website.
