Single moms in Southeast Texas are eager to earn an education and contribute to our community.
Being alone can sometimes get a bad rap or be seen in a negative light, as if something is wrong with you if you are alone. For example, you enter a restaurant and the hostess asks, “Just one?” as if there is something wrong with being just one. In all fairness, have you ever seen a table set for “just one?” No, because our world isn’t designed for people to be alone.

Something new is happening in southeast Texas. It will change lives. It will change statistics. It will change our community.
Bridges of Hope for Single Moms is an Educational Support Program that will make it possible for single moms to earn a two-year degree with assistance along the way.
SMORE has been around almost ten years. This weekend we will host another of our signature events: a DAY of Blessings for single moms. It is an intimate event for a few carefully selected single mothers. We can do this because of the support of a few generous donors.
I have a dream. I want to see a program in southeast Texas that will give single mother a break, a two-year break. This dream is becoming a reality through The Community Coalition’s Bridges of Hope for Single Mothers.
