Traits of Empowered Women
An empowered woman knows her strengths and how to exercise them. She believes in the power of her strengths. She works hard and remains focused.
Know Your Strengths
Empowered women know themselves well. They are aware of both their strong traits and their personal weaknesses or challenges. Empowered women use their strengths when they set goals and as they work to achieve them. If you aren’t sure of your strengths personality profiles are extremely helpful in determining your strengths.
Believe in Yourself
You’ve heard that you should believe in yourself. Empowered women believe they can achieve their goals. Success in past builds confidence. You have to start somewhere. I suggest you complete a project that interests you such as a craft. Or attend an adult education class that teaches a subject of interest to you. Even a simple endeavor will increase your belief in your abilities.
Work Hard and Stay Focused
Empowered women work hard and stay focused. In these days it isn’t easy to remain focused. We are surrounded with distractions. From Facebook to Twitter and 24/7 news on television we have to establish new habits that keep us on track.
Hard work is a common trait of empowered women. No magic, just work. The empowered are invested with power and authority.
A woman who is authorized or has official authority is empowered. She manages her own life. She takes charge and is responsible for her life choices.
Choices are what create the empowered woman. You can make the choices to:
- Identify your strengths
- Develop a belief in yourself
- Create a plan to reach your goals.
Benjamin Franklin said that wasted strengths are “sundials in the shade.” Are your strengths in the shade? You do have strengths. Perhaps you’ve been ridiculed or embarrassed when attempting to exercise your strengths. Maybe a parent or teacher discouraged you. According to the authors of Now, Discover Your Strengths, MarcusBuckingham and Donald O. Clifton, Ph.D.
Your natural talents are gifts from God or accidents of birth, depending on the articles of your faith. Either way, you had nothing to do with them. However, you have a great deal to do with fashioning them into strengths. . . to avoid your strengths and to focus on your weaknesses isn’t a sign of diligent humility. It is almost irresponsible. . .the most honorable thing to do is face up to the strength potential inherent in your talents and find ways to realize it.
Be brutally honest with yourself. What are you afraid of? Failure. All great people throughout history experienced failure and ultimately learned from it.
You are woman and I know you can do it. How about getting started today?
Let me know how it goes.
