SESSION TWO

According to Hippocrates and others, even today, there are four basic personality types. Before you say what about this or that other profile out there, let’s just stick with this concept. It works well and is valid and has withstood the test of time.

Below you will see a brief synopsis of the four types-Popular Sanguine, Powerful Choleric, Perfect Melancholy and Peaceful Phlegmatic. This is not an extensive and thorough explanation. However, it will be enough to get you started. If you’ve done a personality profile before it will be familiar to you.

Popular Sanguine 

Obvious Traits:

•  Friendly
•  Brightly dressed
•  Forgetful

Relate to by:

• Keeping conversation as light as possible
• Noticing and complimenting colorful clothes
• Giving notes with specific dates and times &
• Reminding!

Powerful Choleric 

Obvious Traits –

• Very sure  of self
•  Quick to criticize
• Hold jobs in leadership

Relate to by:

• Expressing appreciation whenever appropriate
• Not taking criticism too personally
• Give jobs to help out with events
• Compliment or bring attention to job well done

Perfect Melancholy 

                                                                                                              

Obvious Traits:

• Neat
• Concerned about details
• Likes schedules

Relate to by:

• Keeping things in order
• Paying attention to details
• Watching the clock/calendar

Peaceful Phlegmatic 

Obvious Traits:

• Calm & Easy  Going
• Good listener
• Puts things off
• Avoids conflict

Relate to by:

• Smile often
• Express appreciation for calm, steady presence in midst of chaos
• Encourage gently to get things done 

Complete a Profile

You are going to learn about your personality before we determine your child’s inborn nature. You will complete a profile. It is important that you realize this is not a test. There are no correct or incorrect answers.You will identify your strengths as well as your struggles or weaknesses. We all have both. You will also learn that we all have a primary and a secondary personality.
