One Way to Success

The Bridges of Hope Educational Support Program is a promising program that makes it possible for single mothers to earn a two-year degree. It is one of the four programs of The Community Coalition that are all about empowering people. We want to bring single moms across the bridge from dependency to self-sufficiency.

Bridges of Hope encourages participants to reach their highest potential, and through a variety of community resources, participants are able to become involved in many social, educational and spiritual activities which help them grow into stronger and more fulfilled persons. Through these various activities and staff support, families build a solid foundation on which they can stand.

Our first candidate, Jackie, will complete a degree in sociology from Lamar University.

We are seeking 100 donors to contribute $20 a month for the two years that she will be in our program. Donations can be made HERE. (Scroll to bottom of page.) Scheduling regular payment through your bank is preferred.
We truly appreciate all donations of any amount.

Gail smiling in purple suitI raised three children as a single mother before I remarried. I have experienced the potholes, pests, and perils of being the single head-of-household. As an educator in regular and special education for twenty years I know a great deal about child development and how to handle kids. I am the founder of SMORE for Women, a nonprofit whose goal is Single Moms, Overjoyed, Rejuvenated, and Empowered. I’m also a Certified Professional Coach and my stories have been published in several Christian books and magazines. My book, Living Learning Loving is available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble online.
