Tips from a Tough Old Bird

As heard on KLBT 88.1

Nothing – no nothing hurts the same way as grief. You don’t live as long as I have and not experience grief. I wish I could give you a simple way to make your hurt heal. It just doesn’t work that way. I’ve known people who are living their lives when something happens and grief hits. It hits hard. They are surprised by the degree to which they can hurt. Often grief is a transforming experience. It changes you. You come to appreciate good days more. You are more grateful for simple things. And one day you notice you’ve spent an entire day without a tear.
