Place for Homeless Moms

In front of Yahweh

The Mission of Yahweh in Houston

Sam and I visited the Mission of Yahweh in Houston. Richard Hill, the Executive Director, gave us a complete tour of their extensive facilities.

For more information about Yahweh you may visit their website HERE. Nestled in a neighborhood of northwest Houston, this mission has been serving homeless women and children since 1961.

The Mission of Yahweh began with a vision given to Mrs. Helen Gay – known by most as Sister Gay. This vision from God led her to devote her life to helping the poor. In 1961, she opened her home to women in crisis. Many churches and families lent their support to Sister Gay and her vision.

Today, the Mission Campus consists of 11 buildings and houses up to 75 women and children.
